There are so many reasons why a dog might throw up. Some less serious, such as indigestion, others a little more serious, such as the presence of a disease.
However, when we find our furry friend’s vomit on the carpet we can wonder why the dog has chosen that particular place.
It is important to know that our four-legged friends do not have the same perception that we have of the carpet, nor do they recognize the importance and cost of the latter.
The dog may throw up on the carpet to keep his environment clean, that is the place where it sleeps, where it eats and where it drinks a little as it does their business on the sleeper.
The choice to throw up on the carpet is not wanted at times the dog is near the latter, and since vomiting is a spontaneous and rare symptom it is difficult to teach your four-legged friend to throw up in a certain place.
How to get rid of dog vomit from the carpet
Since you can’t teach your furry friend to throw up in a specific place, you need to know how to clean dog vomit off the carpet.
To do this, it is first of all necessary to act immediately, as the vomit when it comes out of dog’s stomach has a very acid consistency that can ruin the carpet.
Especially if our four-legged friend vomits on an empty stomach. So to prevent the stain from persisting, it is advisable to first eliminate the vomit with absorbent paper, then sprinkle the stain with baking soda, leaving it to act for about ten minutes.
You can then use either a specific product to remove stains from the carpet, or dab a product consisting of 2 glasses of warm water, a tablespoon of dish detergent and a tablespoon of white vinegar on the carpet. Finally, dab with a cloth dampened with cold water and leave to dry in the open air.
